Dutch newspaper Trouw publishes about the new Drents Museum in Assen

Wednesday, 23 February 2011

On February 18, 2011, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an article on the ongoing construction of the Drents Museum in Assen achieved by Erick van Egeraat. The expansion of the museum, which covers over 2.000 square meters, is located primarily below ground and is fully adapted to the natural and historic environment. The old coach house has been moved and placed on a glass plinth to light up the space below and on the roof of the new exhibition hall there will be a great garden open to the public.

With the expansion and renovation, the Drents Museum wants to organize more major international exhibitions and hopes to ensure itself a strong cultural-economic position for the province.

Construction is in a far stage and on schedule, which promises a grand opening for the Drents Museum in November of this year after being closed for over two years.
