The largest law firm in The Netherlands, De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, has moved into the Mahler 4 office tower in the Zuid-As Business District in Amsterdam. Erick van Egeraat has realized both the shell and core design and the full interior design of this iconic high-rise. The exterior is characterized by a symbolic play of gravity between ‘the Rock’ housing the top floors, and the glazed majority of floors under this rock. The building has an atrium over its full height around which the auditorium, restaurant, library and workspaces have been organized. Materials vary from fritted glass, polyester panels and brass elements to rich variations of natural stone.
