Last Christmas Erick van Egeraat and his wife Tiffany van Egeraatova made a humanitarian trip to Hyderabad, India to visit one of the Centers of the Cleft Children’s Hospital which was set up nine years ago by their friend professor Hermann F. Sailer and Mrs. Erica Schwob.
CCI Cleft-Children International (www.cleft-children.org), offers disfigured children, due to severe cleft lip and palate, a way out of their hopeless and degrading lives. In India alone, Cleft has accomplished over 26,000 surgeries, thousands of follow-up treatments, orthodontic-, therapeutic- and psychological procedures. Besides that, Cleft trains doctors, nurses and speech therapists as a means of passing on knowledge and expertise.
