On 12 October 2010, the first tenants of the ‘Vlindertuin’, the dwelling project by (designed by) Erick van Egeraat, symbolically were handed over their house key by developer ‘Ons Huis’. The family dwellings have a non-traditional set up: facing each other circular on the foot of a slope, a design scheme based on the urban plan, also by the hand of Erick van Egeraat. This urban concept strongly refers to the ‘Vellertheuvel’, the central green hill surrounded by mounds. The pronounced roofs of the houses interact with the green sloping landscape. Scheduled completion for the 220 houses is by end of this year adding yet another elegant element to the city of Apeldoorn.
