Facade design Mall of Russia
Moscow, Russian Federation

The design for the wall of the Mall of Russia introduces an elaborate layering of elements, with the focus being the vertical garden. The façade is placed against the existing wall, with some added elements on the roof. The layers start with a fresh air louvre, followed by a construction mess 1 meter from the existing wall. This second layer is followed by a construction plate, which allows for the maintenance and care taking of the vertical garden that follows as the fourth layer. The fifth and final layer acts as a shell of natural stone, with openings that allow the green of the vertical garden to grow through. In addition, the roof has also been integrated into the design, with the addition of soil containers for the planting of trees.
