Hotel Kempinski
Bratislava, Slovakia

The Bratislava Riverside development is a major redevelopment of the former exhibition area in the city centre of the Slovak capital that has long sat idle. Situated along the river Danube, within 5 minutes walking distance from downtown Bratislava, the area has the potential to capitalize on the spectacular views of the river in its new residential and working zones and realize a potent new identity. The design concept of the Hotel Kempinski Riverpark Bratislava was born from the philosophical attitude of Kempinski Hotels and Resorts combined with the urban design philosophies of Erick van Egeraat. Situated in the water zone of the plot, the hotel incorporates the natural phenomenon of the water into its design and is both a continuation and an enhancement of the style and elegance of the Kempinski Hotels and Resorts chain. The functional design of Kempinski Riverpark stems from the strict operational requirements of a five-star hotel with particular attention to the required connections and sizes of the functional spaces. The intelligently designed horizontal and vertical circulation provides for an efficient and comfortably managed hotel. The L-shaped building encompasses a total of 227 rooms housed on eight floors and includes a lobby, reception area with back offices, a Grand Café on the square and a restaurant towards the ground floor promenade. The design incorporates ballrooms and meeting rooms on the first floor, and a wellness centre including pool, sport area, relaxation, beauty and treatment zones on the 11th floor.
