Malta Skygardens, A new pulsing heart for Gzira

Well embedded in the Mediterranean tradition and in the heart of the upcoming city of Gzira, this state of the art High-rise and mixed-use-project will soon be the example of modern style of living in the Maltese Islands. With its spacious terraces, its light colors, the abundance of vegetated gardens, the water features and long horizontal lines; living in SkyGardens enables you to be part of Malta’s marine living and enjoy to the attractive horizons from Valetta to St.Julians and beyond.

Slightly elevated from the surrounding streets, a public plaza opens up to Testaferrata street. A stunning waterfall and fountain, together with the shadow provided by the building’s colossal cantilever and the greenery, this plaza creates a refreshing public microclimate for all visitors to enjoy. A unique sizable heigh-end department store on the first three floors, which includes two restaurants, connects the plaza and the surrounding streets on different levels.

Floors 4-6 allocate highly flexible office spaces, organized around a central atrium that will host the reception and several shared facilities. Office floors can be subdivided in five separate offices, allowing the premises to provide either for one office of 12,000m2 or alternatively for up to fifteen smaller offices. The atrium roof has huge automated moveable lamellas to filter the desired amount of sun-light. The lamellas will be fully open during the day, allowing maximum natural air ventilation. During the evenings and events, the roof will be closed, creating a floor space on the Club terrace above.

On floor 7, a nine-meter-high space hosts a Restaurant and Club in two levels, opening up to a majestic roof terrace of the SkyGardens Club. The SkyGardens Club provides high end events, outdoor entertainment and spaces for resting and relaxation. Its massive terrace is elevated 34 m above the streets, allowing for stunning 360 degrees’ views. As the centre focal point of the terrace, SkyGardens has a 45 m long infinity pool, cantilevering over the plaza, stretching entirely undisturbed views towards Manuel Island, Valleta and the Ta‘Xbiex Marina. The pivoting item on the roof terraces is the moving dance and presentation floor. Once set to close off the atrium to the offices below, this state of the art piece of equipment provides for an interactive Light Emitting Floor that provides the appropriate ambiance for evening entertainment.

Starting at floor 9, and up to a height of 31 floors, the tower allocates up to 138 spacious and luxurious apartments, characterized by high ceilings, elegant design, and generous terraces. Full height frameless glass facades provide uninterrupted 360 degrees’ views all over the city, and continuous interior-exterior space relations, while the long cantilevered balconies protect the glass façade from the harsh sun-light. Large parts of the balconies are occupied by dense greenery, which filters and humidifies the air, provides privacy and protects the balconies from the wind. For the most demanding clients, duplex apartments multiply the experience of the space with impressive double height terraces and futuristic private staircases, suspended outside the building 100 meters above the street. On floors 30 and 31, two individual penthouses twist into each other to provide 360 degrees’ views each.
