Erick van Egeraat’s design for the extension of the Drents Museum in Assen includes a new main entrance under the nearby 18th century coach-house. The monumental building will be removed temporarily from its current location to free the space which is needed to build the underground extension. Later the monument will be placed back on a glass plinth, revealing the building’s new function as main entrance in an elegant manner.
On October 16th the official event is planned to celebrate the start of the construction where Erick van Egeraat and invitees of other involved parties will be present. Completion of the project is planned in the first quarter of 2011.
