Riyadh city is the capital city and seat of government of the Riyadh province and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The city has more than 50 existing factories that produces products representing electrical industries, plastic industries, metal industries and wood industries. The industrial city is characterized by its location near the Dry Port and being behind the Riyadh Railway Station.

The masterplan for the industrial city shown lays it focus on carefully reading the present industrial program and upgrading it. Adding a marketplace and upgrading the warehouses is big part of this, the good quality warehouses act as showrooms for goods that are made on site. While new warehouses are added with a common modular approach and high sustainable standards. Introducing a domestic market that sells products made on site, strengthens the character of the center. Furthermore, a mix of functions will be introduced to stimulate better and continuous use of the plot. Think of new commercial typologies, a welcoming area – like a hotel or auditorium – facing the train/metro station, an office compound, etc.
