Hotel Khanty-Mansiysk
Khanty-Mansiysk, Russian Federation

The design for the 83 meter hotel tower in Khanty-Mansiysk is an integral part of Erick van Egeraat’s masterplan for the further development of the capital of the resource-rich region of Khanty-Mansiysk. The landmark building will house 250 five-star hotel room units, a conference and business centre and retail spaces on a total gross floor area of 51.500 square meters. Within the next twenty years, Khanty-Mansiysk not only plans to double its population size, but also aims to establish itself as the region’s prime business centre and Siberia’s main hub for tourism. This project will be the symbol of the new Khanty-Mansiysk and an anchor for realising the city’s aspirations. It will stimulate the market for business and leisure tourism and trigger the establishment of a vibrant inner city. The hotel tower consists of a dense mass of new volumes and relates to its direct context. The highly visible mix of public functions in the base of the tower stimulates around-the-clock activity in the area. Around the hotel, a network of pedestrian links, green zones and urban spaces creates a new urban centre.
