MySky awarded at the 2015 World Superyacht Awards

Erick van Egeraat has received a Neptune trophy at the prestigious World Superyacht Awards gala evening in Amsterdam on May 9th 2015. The ultra-contemporary, sharp and sophisticatedly styled 51-metre private yacht MySky, won the award for best Displacement Motor Yachts of 500 GT to 1,299 GT.

Erick van Egeraat was appointed to create an extremely comfortable, as well as outstanding and individual design for this modern superyacht. Crisp snow white marble and pure white leather, starkly contrasting with black materials like high-gloss lacquer and dark-toned Makassar wood, all contribute to the highly distinct monochrome theme of the ultra-modern vessel. This black and white motif is used both throughout the interior and exterior of the yacht, resulting in a highly styled, luxurious ambience. The design includes many unique features; like the ships atrium walls, made of exclusively patterned backlit onyx set in a background of black granite. MySky is built to highest contemporary standards and craftsmanship by Dutch Shipyard Heesen Yachts in Oss.

Among the many features that earned her the best Displacement motor Yachts of 500 GT to 1,299 GT Award, were its spacious luxury master suite, including a bathroom with full natural stone steam bath and a spacious walk-in closet and its fully equipped gymnasium, located on the sundeck; all created to satisfy the owner’s requirement for quality time in sports, physical training programs and well-being in the outdoors.

Erick van Egeraat states about his design:

“We are very proud of this result. Specifically because this award underlines the fact that we continue to explore new territory and that we lead the way in terms of innovation, craftsmanship and creating quality and value. Each of my projects displays my personal vision, and especially the design of MySky took this to a whole new level. The more someone is aiming for a result which is not particularly standard, the more I get excited. This ship’s design is not an ultra-avant-garde design, but it is definitely not conventional. It has been a clear case of how distinct you can be without being, let’s say, in your face, or obnoxious and at all times remaining fully focused on creating maximum satisfaction for our clients.”

The World Superyacht Awards are the most prestigious trophies in the superyacht industry. The 10th annual World Superyacht Awards gala evening and Awards Ceremony took place at Amsterdam’s iconic Westergasfabriek, attended by an international audience of yacht owners and influential members of the luxury yachting industry which all celebrated the finest yachts delivered in 2015.
